About Me
Education is a personal passion for me, and tutoring is part of how I serve that passion. I've tutored students informally and for school-sponsored programs since high school, and it's always been one of my favorite parts of school. Now that I've graduated, I'm tutoring professionally for local families to continue serving that mission and develop my approach to education.
I'm energized by helping students see the beauty in math and solve complex problems independently. While my focus in tutoring is improving success in school, I try to make the subject come alive as much as I can. One of my goals is to give everyone a "lightbulb" moment in math where some idea really clicks and is actually exciting to them. Moments like that keep me motivated to continually improve my approach and adapt to every student's individual needs.
Foundations
My interest in math deepened in high school through problem-solving–focused learning and math competitions. I spent significant time working through challenging problems independently, including materials from Art of Problem Solving, which emphasized reasoning, persistence, and creative thinking over rote procedures. That experience shaped how I think about math today—not just as a subject to memorize, but as something you figure out. During this time, I also began tutoring peers and younger students, discovering that I enjoyed helping others develop the same confidence and intuition I was building myself.
College and beyond
I went on to earn a B.S. in Data Science from the University of New Hampshire, graduating with honors. While at UNH, I was a Hamel Scholar, a program centered on leadership, service, and community engagement. My coursework combined advanced mathematics, computer science, and real-world, project-based learning, including two education-focused internships. Alongside my academic work, I continued tutoring and refining my teaching style. Today, I'm using my background to develop innovative educational technology, and my tutoring work remains central to how I understand students' needs and how effective learning actually happens.
